Uncomfortable lenses; switch to Focus N&D?

I have been using Cibasoft Visitint lenses for over six years now, but
I have found that my comfort level with them has been slowly
decreasing.  Often times I can barely get 10-12 hours out of them when
I used to wear them 14-16 hours a day.  So being that I plan on
getting a checkup soon (right eye needs a slight bump in strength),
should I lean towards a somthing like the Focus N&D so that I can get
the daily wear time I am looking for?  Would these be more comfortable
for my eyes?

Probably your Cibasoft lenses need to be replaced more often to keep
the comfort level up.  I wore Cibasoft Tefilcon in the 80s — you
can’t wear those lenses all day with comfort because the water content
is low and not enough oxygen gets to the eye.

Switch to disposables — Ciba Focus Monthly or Ciba Bi-Weekly are
quite good and more comfortable than Cibasoft.  I wore those lenses
for a few years before switching to 1-Day Acuvue.  I found the 1-Day
Acuvue/Acuvue 2 design to be more comfortable than the Focus Monthly
or Bi-Weekly.  There’s something about the way the Acuvues are
manufactured (the edge design on AV2) which the other manufacturers
can’t seem to duplicate.  You’ll never feel the lens edge at all.
    Quite remarkable.

Focus N & D is also just as comfortable as Acuvue 2 and can be worn
from the minute you get up to the minute you go to sleep.  Sometimes
you will feel (slightly) the lens edge when looking towards the corner
of your eye because the material is a little stiffer, but it’s hardly
    noticeable.

Cibasoft is an old design — time to switch.

    Domenic.
