Rings

I have been experiencing "rings" in my vision at various times and at
various intervals from once a week up to 3 or 4 times a week. They
just seem to appear with no warning and last from a few minutes up to
an hour. The "rings" can best be described as holes in glass (jagged
edges) and are very bright. They are very annoying and make it very
difficult to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please post
or email reply to crmar…@netsync.net

Sounds like the "scintillating scotoma" associated with migraine,
although it doesn’t necessarily lead to a migraine headache. Do the
rings glitter, do they grow larger before disappearing? Is there a
central blindspot? I get it if I drink coffee or any other caffeine
containing substance (coke, chocolate, decaf coffee); it is also a sign
of caffeine toxicity or, in my case, hypersensitivity.

I am sixty five and had by-pass surgery a year ago.  Since then, my
near-sight prescription has increased from 7 to 10 and then to 13 within
a period of 10 months. My far-sighted prescription has slightly
    improved.

My doctor has ruled out Glaucoma, Cataract.

    Please help.
