Retinal Tear?

After seeing a shower of flashes for a minute; would all eye problems
desist afterward?  For a minute I saw flashes and prisms; then no
abnormality in the last few weeks.

I presume that this shower of flashes occurred spontaneously and not with a
thump on the eyeball.  In either case, though, I would want my eye dilated
and to have my peripheral retina and vitreous checked for tears.  The most
common cause ofa torn retina is the spontaneous shrinkage/movement of the
membrane around the vitreous as it separates from the retina… called
posterior vitreous detachment (PVD).  This (PVD) happens most often to
    people in
their 40′s and 50′s and is usually benign.  Torn retinas can become
detached retinas, however, within days… so you really ought to get in to
a competent eye doc asap.  good luck.

The flashes may disappear for awhile, but usually you receive increased
    amounts of floaters.
In any Case flashes of light are serious.  You should
imediately(within 24 hours) go and see an Opthamologist for a dilated
exam.  Retinal detachments normally occur in high myopes. Meaning if you
are near sighted (strong prescription) you have a higher risk.
the risk increases with heavy activity, running, flips, fighting, etc.
The elongated eye of myopes tugs at the retina and heavy lifting or any
thing that causes strain can cause a detatchment.

see an Opthamologist immediately, no matter what the case.
