Marilyn, you don’t mention where you live. In Canada, I would start by
contacting the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (they also
do "talking books"). Surely you must have similar organizations in
the US (i.e. support/education/information/service groups and
organizations for people who are visually impaired)

Braille books are available from many sources, One good souce is the
Lighthouse Inc. on 61st and Lexington Ave. The Librarian there will
help.. also contact the Free Library Service for the Blinkd and
Physically Handicapped People 1-800-424-9100.
